The World Health Organization has declared an outbreak of the Marburg virus after Ghanas Ministry of Health confirmed two cases of the disease on Sunday. Marburg is a highly infectious viral hemorrhagic fever in the same family as Ebola. Marburg virus disease causes people to quickly develop severe illness and fever which could lead to shock or death.
